Writing & Consulting
For over 25 years I have worked as a freelance writer and consultant, in addition to making films. In these collaborations, I see my role as that of a midwife, supporting filmmakers, artists and organizations through the birthing process of creating their work. My writing services include documentary treatments, scripts, narration and funding proposals. My consulting services support artists at any point in the development, production and editing phases of their work. I’ve worked with a wonderful range of artists, including singer Linda Ronstadt, dancer Nora Chipaumire, directors Deann Borshay Liem, Lourdes Portillo, Jay Rosenblatt and Avon Kirkland, to name a few. I’ve also had the privilege to assist media and arts organizations in crafting their powerful and compelling cases for equity, opportunity, inclusion and representation in their fields.
